Troops Kill Bandits, Intercept Explosives, Arrest Arms Currier in Zamfara

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have recorded major successes in their ongoing offensive operations, neutralizing terrorists and intercepting a courier transporting one hundred and eighty explosive devices in Zamfara State.

In a statement by Media information officer of the Operation Fansan Yamma, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the command disclosed that troops of Sector 2 encountered terrorists around Garin Kaso in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area during an offensive clearance operation. During the fierce firefight, two terrorists were neutralized, and two rifles, two magazines, nine rounds of ammunition, and two motorcycles were recovered.

The statement further revealed that another group of terrorists attempted to ambush the advancing troops from concealed positions. The troops responded decisively, forcing the attackers to flee with severe casualties, as local reports later confirmed the evacuation of several wounded and dead terrorists.

In a related development on the same day, troops conducting routine snap checks intercepted a fifty-seven-year-old suspected arms courier named Sani Umar. A thorough search of his vehicle led to the recovery of one hundred and eighty units of twenty-millimeter Super Power explosives, which were being conveyed from Gusau Local Government Area in Zamfara State to terrorist elements in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The Theatre Command reiterated its resolve to sustain the current operational momentum, choke terrorist logistics networks, and completely deny criminal elements freedom of action across the North West zone.
