Zamfara APC Mourns the Death of Emir of Zurmi

The All Progressives Congress in Zamfara State stated that the death of the Emir of Zurmi, Alhaji Muhammad Bello Sulaiman, has robbed the state of an honest, patient, sincere, trustworthy, and astute traditional ruler who served with dignity and decorum.

In a statement made available to ‘Smarts News’ by the Publicity Secretary of the party Ibrahim Muhammad Birnin Magaji, said the party Chairman Honorable Kabiru Moyi Birnin Magaji states this while reacting to the death of the emir which occurred on Monday, August 31, 2026.

According to the party leadership, the late monarch, who served as the village head of Mayasa and Kanwa in Zurmi Emirate from the 1950s until he became the emir in 2022, had led his people by example.

Kabiru Moyi Birnin Magaji stated that during his reign, the late emir was able to unite his people, which brought about meaningful development in the emirate.

The chairman maintained that during his brief stint as emir, the politics of bitterness and rancour gave way to a more brotherly relationship amongst politicians in Zurmi Emirate despite their party differences.

“On behalf of the party state executive council and the entire APC family in the state, Honorable Kabiru Moyi Birnin Magaji extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, the Zurmi Emirate Council, the State Council of Chiefs, and the government and people of Zamfara State over this monumental loss.” The statement read

He prayed to Allah SWT to grant the gentle soul of the emir final abode in His Jannatil Firdausi and all concerned the fortitude to bear his demise.
