OPFY Troops Rescue 1 Kidnap Victim, Arrest 4 Suspects In Kebbi

Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued a kidnapped resident, recovered eighteen rustled cattle, and arrested four suspected drug peddlers in separate operations across Kebbi State.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Media Information Officer of Joint Task Force North West Operation Fansan Yamma, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja.

According to the statement, troops of Sector 2, working alongside local vigilantes, swiftly responded to a distress call after terrorists invaded Rambo Village in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area with plans to abduct residents and steal livestock. Upon arriving at the scene, the security forces engaged the terrorists in a firefight, successfully rescuing forty-year-old Suleiman Maiyaki Ikara and retrieving eighteen cattle, all of which were subsequently handed over to the District Head of Rambo Village.

Danja noted that, in a related development, troops collaborated with officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency to conduct coordinated raids on targeted hideouts in Dakin Kowa, Karaye, and Gubba communities within Maiyama Local Government Area. The joint raid led to the arrest of four suspected drug peddlers and the recovery of illicit substances, with the suspects and exhibits now in NDLEA custody for investigation.

Lieutenant Colonel Danja reassured the public that the Joint Task Force remains resolute in its offensive against criminal elements, while calling on citizens to support security agencies with timely and credible information.
